If someone who didn’t know you, saw you out, would the know that you were a believer? Does your life reflect that you’re a Christian? Would someone be totally shocked that you go to church? How consistant is your lifestyle with your verbal confession?
The trend seems to be, say you’re a Christian; but live a life that doesn’t match that. I do not intend to come off judgmental. I speak from experience. I’ve been the go to church every sunday; club every friday and saturday guy. I was very active in the church, yet very active in promiscuity, and alcohol. I was a fence straddler. My beliefs weren’t clear one way or the other. I’m sure I confused alot of people.
Rev 3:15-16 says: I know you inside and out, and little to my liking. You’re not cold, you’re not hot. Far better to be either cold or hot! You’re stale. You’re stagnant. You make me want to vomit (MSG)
Pick a side! This passage is saying if you’re going to be cold, freeze! if you’re going to be hot, set everything a blaze! Have you heard people say they are on fire for God? Have you ever watched Kobe Bryant or Lebron James score buckets and the announcer say they’re on fire? It’s the same thing. To be on fire is to be “on a roll” in your walk with God. Constantly growing and sharing, not living a hit then miss lifestyle. Have you ever seen someone play basketball for one quarter then switch to soccer for the remaining three? You’re lifestyle shouldn’t switch like that from sunday to monday. Don’t take side streets to where you’re going (Heaven or Hell) take the Highway. You should sell completely out to your beliefs. Because I believe in God, I completely sell out to His ways.
2 Corithians 6:14-17 says: Don’t make a partnership with those who reject God. How can you make a partnership out of right and wrong? Thats not a partnership, that war. Is light best friends with dark? Does Christ go strolling with the devil? Does trust and mistrust hold hands? Who would think of setting up pagan idols in God’s holy temple? But thats exactly what we are, each one of us a temple in whom God lives. God himself put it this way:
“I’ll live in them, move into them; I’ll be there God and they’ll be my people. So leave the corruption and compromise; leave it for good”, says God. “Don’t link up with those who will pollute you, I want you all to myself” (MSG)
Verse 17 calls for you to separate yourself from those who live a life in darkness. Once you accept Jesus and become saved a common misconception is that your mind is saved. You’re spirit is saved yes; but as for your mind, that needs to be renewed. Prior to being saved we learn the ways of the world culture. We adapt to the culture of our surrondings.
Romans 12:2 says: Don’t be come so well adjusted to the culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to it’s level of immaturity. God brings out the best in you, develops well formed maturity in you. (MSG)
We must renew our mind to the way we were originally intended to think. Our thoughts and actions should line up with the ways of Christ, if you claim to “Rep Christ”. We must strip ourselves of the filth of our previous thinking.
James 1:21-21 says:Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. (NIV)
Standing in a garage yelling “honk!” doesn’t make you a car; just as going to church doesn’t make you a Christian. Pouring water on your lips doesn’t quench your thirst. You have to open your mouth and drink, just as you have to let the word of God get inside of you so that it can grow in your life. I encourage you to read Colossians 3.
Colossians 3:5-10 says:
And that means killing off everything connected with that way of death: sexual promiscuity, impurity, lust, doing whatever you feel like whenever you feel like it, and grabbing whatever attracts your fancy. That’s a life shaped by things and feelings instead of by God. It’s because of this kind of thing that God is about to explode in anger. It wasn’t long ago that you were doing all that stuff and not knowing any better. But you know better now, so make sure it’s all gone for good: bad temper, irritability, meanness, profanity, dirty talk.
Don’t lie to one another. You’re done with that old life. It’s like a filthy set of ill-fitting clothes you’ve stripped off and put in the fire. Now you’re dressed in a new wardrobe. Every item of your new way of life is custom-made by the Creator, with his label on it. All the old fashions are now obsolete.
I encourage you to make a firm choice today and go all out. Go hard or go home! Give your whole self to God. Continue to renew your mind, and GET ON FIRE! No more stale living! Live the way you were intended to live!
Joshua 24:15 says: ”If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you’d rather serve—and do it today. Choose one of the gods your ancestors worshiped from the country beyond The River, or one of the gods of the Amorites, on whose land you’re now living. As for me and my family, we’ll worship God.” (MSG)
If you “REP CHRIST” CHECK THE FIRE WE HAVE AND LETS CHANGE THE WORLD!
Live Life Love God,

So all week I’ve been hearing God speak to me about running a tight ship, not being sloppy, and being more discipline. I’ve been meditating on it all week and saying it to my friends. Well today God gave me a visual illustration, a modern day parable.
